10/31/2023 0 Comments Gpb virtual field trips![]() This weeks Virtual Field Trip Spotlight highlights slavery and freedom in Savannah, Georgia. Students will visit the following physical features: the Blue Ridge Mountains, Brasstown Bald, the monadnocks (Arabia, Panola, and Stone Mountains), Red Top Mountain, the Fall Line, Providence Canyon, Okefenokee Swamp, Savannah and Chattahoochee Rivers, and the barrier islands. Whether students are learning virtually or in the classroom, GPB Educations virtual field trips are an excellent resource to help them understand certain topics and concepts. This virtual field trip takes students on a journey throughout the state of Georgia, guiding them through twelve of the state’s physical features and explaining the relative location of each, as well as their environmental characteristics, historical connections, and much more. We recommend that students explore this virtual field trip after they have completed Unit 6 of the Georgia Studies Book: Our State and Our Nation or after a thorough discussion about the role of business and entrepreneurship in Georgia’s economy and growth. If bigger is better, then this is our best virtual field trip yet! Complimenting our Regions virtual field trip, the Physical Features of Georgia trip is now available on our website and the GPB Education app. The field trips also align with the Georgia Standards of Excellence as well as the content from GPB’s Georgia Studies digital textbook. Teachers will be able help students explore these historic locations by accessing the virtual field trips through the web and tablets. Each field trip brings the location to life with interviews, 360-degree panoramic photography, interactive elements, discussion prompts, and videos.
